Barcelona Attractions
During a visit to this Spanish city there are numerous different Barcelona attractions that one can visit and enjoy. Whether you are visiting the city with your partner or the whole family there is going to be something for everyone.
Many of the attractions that you can visit during your stay in Barcelona were either built back in 1929 when the International Exhibition took place. Whilst others were built in 1992 when the city hosted the summer Olympic Games.
One such attraction that is extremely popular with visitors to the city is the National Palace (Palau Nacional) which was the focal point of the International Exhibition. This building which was is in the neo-baroque style now houses the National Art Museum of Catalan (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya).
Whilst in front of this building is the Magic Fountain (Font Magica) which is at the center of the Plaza directly in front of the National Palace. Although it looks spectacular during the day at night it is even more so as both it and the Palace behind are illuminated.
Another attraction which many people enjoy visiting and was part of the 1929 International Exhibition is the Spanish Village (Poble Espanyol). Here you will be able to few buildings of various different kinds of styles of Spanish architecture. Originally this area of the city was to be demolished after the exhibition but because it proved so popular with visitors to the exhibition it was decided to retain it and now remains a very popular attraction with tourists visiting the city today.
